Swedish is the most common type of relaxation massage in the United States. It includes firm but gentle gliding strokes, kneading, isolated friction to remove "knots", compressions, and rocking. Desired pressure is your preference and can be light, medium, or deep.

Deep Tissue Massage is not Swedish Massage with deeper pressure. It is a more focused and intense approach that reorganizes connective tissue (fascia) and muscle in particular areas that contribute to chronic pain or have become imbalanced due to injury or years of improper body mechanics.

Originated in Japan from traditional Chinese Medicine, Shiatsu uses touch, comfortable pressure and manipulative techniques to adjust the body's physical structure and energy flow.  This is a deeply relaxing treatment which can alleviate stress and help maintain well being.

Reiki is a healing art with its roots in Japan.  The word Reiki comes from the Japanese word (Rei) which means "Universal Life" and (Ki) which means "Energy".  This healing art channels vital energy to support the body's natural ability to heal itself and is helpful in increasing relaxation and reducing stress.  Reiki sessions may be reserved as a stand-alone treatment, or incorporated into a customized massage upon request.

Regardless of the modalities you prefer, you will experience physical, mental, and emotional benefits from massage and energy work. Receiving a massage relaxes the body, calms the nervous system, loosens tight muscles and connective tissue, reduces pain, decreases headaches, speeds recovery from injuries and illnesses, increases range of motion, improves muscle tone, increases blood and lymph circulation, and improves posture and skin tone. Massage also reduces stress and anxiety, promotes quality sleep, releases endorphins, improves concentration, and provides a sense of well being.
